As she moves around amongst edible plants and flowers you sense her intimate relation with Nature.
And her gratitude.
Feeling lost after a stressful period in the advertising business Cecil moved from the City of Copenhagen into the calm curved landscapes of Samsø that had always held her so gently during her childhood holidays.
“It gave me this deep joy of connection that I was so missing when I was running around in my high heels in Copenhagen”
Being much closer to nature she slowly recovered herself and not only that – she also found her life’s purpose in creating beauty, diversity and the best possible conditions for all living beings and sharing her space with plants, insects, birds, worms, people. A space where we can connect to our deeper selves and be in a life-affirming dialogue with everything around us. Becoming more synchronized with the ebb and flow of
living in and with Nature.
"The garden has changed me profoundly and it gave me access to a different kind of power. Not power over but just power”.
With her two hands she created an amazing permaculture garden of intense lushness and beauty – everything based on the return to a living and resilient soil that has been fed tons and tons of organic matter during the last 10 years.
“I created the garden, but the garden also created me"
.. she says. Once in a while she opens up this peaceful place for retreats and year-long courses in spiritual and practical permaculture.
This portrait takes you into the heart of Cecil Rye Olsens farm and garden
‘Inspiratoriet’ and through the temperaments and the gifts we can find
in nature during all four seasons.
